DORA’s Division of Professions and Occupations (DPO) will host a community meeting in Denver on Nov. 29, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., to discuss potential updates to the Policy for Prescribing and Dispensing Opioids. The Colorado health care licensing boards are seeking public input to understand the needs of Coloradans and the impact of the policy in order to craft right-touch guidelines that serve the dual purpose of treating the individual patient and public health.

DPO is seeking to involve health care professionals, patient family members, behavioral health specialists, substance abuse treatment providers, and the general public at-large in forums around prescribing opioids. The policy forum is the third in recent months, after an event in Pueblo on May 6 and Greeley on Sept. 20.
